Services for Josephine Sherfield, 51, Ben Wheeler, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Louis Sherfield Jr. officiating.

Burial was in Friendship Cemetery under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co., Tyler.

Ms. Sherfield died May 3, 2008, in an Athens hospital.

She was born March 6, 1957, in Van Zandt County, and was a lifelong resident. She attended Van High School and was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include her mother, Mary Sherfield, Ben Wheeler; brother, Louis Sherfield Sr., Tyler; and sisters, Flecie Rhone and Dorothy Sherfield, both of Tyler, Betty Cuba, Ben Wheeler, and Essie Burkhalter, California.
