Brownsboro Beautification clean-up day set for Saturday
The Brownsboro Beautification group has teamed up with the City of Brownsboro for a local clean-up day scheduled for Saturday, August 23; and just when you thought "spring cleaning" was over. I'm sure you've seen the signs all over Brownsboro about the Spring Cleaning. You can bring all of your junk between the hours of 7 a.m.-12 p.m., big or small, and dispose of it in the dumpsters that the city will provide. While there, be sure to donate at least an hour of your time to your town. The Beautification Group is asking you to bring a trash bag and some gloves to help clean up some of the trash that has gathered around the area. Any amount of time that you can donate is greatly appreciated.
At their Thursday, August 7th meeting the board discussed plans on making Brownsboro a better place to live.
In order to get their affiliation with Keep Texas Beautiful, the Board is in the process of getting their Tax ID number. Once this process is complete Keep Brownsboro Beautiful will be in full effect.
The Board feels prideful and blessed that they have a wonderful group of people that are truly concerned about this city and take time out of their lives to make Brownsboro better than ever. Their ultimate goal is to improve Brownsboro physically, specifically Hwy 31E, and make it a more desirable place visually.
Even though they are waiting on their affiliation, it is not stopping them from going forward with improvements.
There is also talk about a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, in downtown Brownsboro, some time in December. They would like to get the people of Brownsboro out of the house to drink some hot chocolate and gather around a beautifully lit Christmas tree.
You can be sure to look out for flower pots around the streets in downtown Brownsboro. "Starting offwith something small like this will make a huge difference around the city," said Vice President Roxie Holley. The Board is working on getting around 25 flower pots, that can be changed out during each season, to put around local businesses and sidewalks.
President Charles Cox is making it clear to contact him if BISD students in the National Honors Society need hours to fulfill. He will try to arrange some work that will not only give credit towards the hours but will also assist in beautifying Brownsboro.
Whatever the improvement may be, anything you can do to volunteer time and effort to the city of Brownsboro will help bring this community together and form a more Beautiful Brownsboro.
