Murchison FUMC will sponsor a benefit for the Murchison Volunteer Fire Department Monday, September 1, from 4 pm to 6 pm at the church serving BBQ. All donations go to the fire department.

The home of Steven and Brandi Richardson burned Tuesday, August 5, around 6 p.m. The family has three children; girl age 10, boy age 8 and another boy age 6. A fund will be set up at the Citizens National Bank in Chandler to help the displaced family. The 7th Annual Chandler 5K is set for Saturday, August 23. The race start and finish lines are at First United Methodist Church on Broad Street in Chandler. Registration starts at 6:30 a.m. and the run starts at 7:30 a.m. Cost to enter is $15.
