Area kids are growing at Kabbage Patch in Brownsboro. The daycare has been in business since August of 1997, and i t 's done its fair share of growing as well.

Owners and sisters Kim Cottle and Trisha Holt have years of experience in quality daycare work. In fact, this experience comes from their jobs at the Little Bears day care in Chandler, directed by their mother.

"We knew there was a need for daycare in Brownsboro, and with our experience, as well as our mom's experience, we decided to open one," Miss Kim said.

The daycare is fully equipped to provide quality service for up to 73 rambunctious children at one time, and Kabbage Patch is licensed for children 18-months-old and older.

The entry building is visible from Highway 31 in Brownsboro, and Kabbage Patch is across the road from the Dollar General store and a few yards east of Pizza Pro.

There are a wealth of toys, as well as important life lessons to learn each day. Inside Kabbage Patch, children under the care of Miss Kim and Mrs Trisha will find just about everything imaginable to keep them entertained and well taken care of.

There are toys and play sets in every room for each class of kids. The two-year-olds, three-year-olds and pre-kindergarteners each have their own classes so the needs of each group can be properly met.

Being that Kabbage Patch is a Christian-based daycare, there are Bible lessons and prayer time in the daily routine for the children, and the classes are set up with play centers.

All in all, the little children's time at Kabbage Patch is designed to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond.

The daycare has a full gym facility with a basketball hoop for much needed exercise, as well as a TV and Playstation 2 for relaxation afterward.

In addition, Kabbage Patch also has a great playground on site for the children, and it's a very popular spot.

Kabbage Patch is busiest during the school year, especially with all the teachers' and Brownsboro School District employees' children to watch over.

It also offers fulltime daycare experience all summer long.

Miss Kim said there are five teachers total at Kabbage Patch.

"We all come from daycare experience, " Miss Kim said. "We also do training yearly; 20 hours of outside training for teachers is required, and we do 30 hours."

Each Kabbage Patch teacher must be CPR and pediatric first aid certified, so the daycare is prepared for anything.

It's a popular spot with kids, so look into Kabbage Patch. After all, most of the children who go to Kabbage Patch insist on staying until the daycare has to push them out in the sixth grade.
