Timothy Lee Mullins Timothy Lee Mullins Timothy Lee Mullins, a Chandler man in his mid- 40s, was found guilty for the June 21, 2007, murder of Susie Lynn Strong. The jury took only a few minutes to come to its guilty verdict, and after an hour and 39 minutes, the man received his life sentence in prison.

Judge Mark Calhoun of the 3rd District Court passed down the sentence.

Mullins was indicted on Sept. 5 on the charge of murder. He was also indicted for the unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the Henderson County District Attorney's report.

Tony Duncan, an investigator with the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, said the case started on June 21, 2007, when a call came in about 6:42 pm. The call concerned a home in Sunrise Shores, an addition on F.M. 315 South.

"The victim was 47-yearold Susie Lynn Strong," Duncan said.

Strong was dead from four gunshot wounds, and Mullins was suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

"It looked like he had attempted to kill himself," Duncan said.

Mullins was taken to Tyler's East Texas Medical Center for recuperation.

James Mills, Mullins' attorney, said there will probably be an appeal.

Mullins and Strong allegedly met at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

Mills said to the jury, "He was taking care of someone he loved. If he hadn't of had feelings for her, he would have just kicked her out. This is a tragedy for two families."

During the trial, Felicia Skinner and Michelle Hebert, two of Strong's daughters, testified they weren't informed Strong was an invalid and never saw anything of concern.

Strong's son, Brian Hebert, was unable to attend the trial because he is stationed in Iraq.
