2008 Pow Wow Parade
The 2008 Pow Wow Parade and Festival will be held on October 11, 2008. The annual Parade is one of the highlights of the Chandler community and we expect this year to be one of the best. The Chandler Lions Club will kick off the festivities with the annual parade line-up beginning at 8:30 AM and the parade beginning at 10:00 AM. At Winchester Park the Chandler/ Brownsboro Area Chamber of Commerce will offer a full day of family fun.
The Chandler Lions Club wishes to recognize the contribution of our teachers and administrators in preparing our youth for the future. Therefore, we have selected "Education Excellence by BISD Teachers and Administrators " as the parade theme, with BISD Superintendent Mr. Elton Caldwell selected as the parade's Grand Marshal.
There are no fees to participate, although we would appreciate a completed application. The applications assist tremendously in lineup management. A parade map and line-up instructions will be mailed to each applicant returning a completed form. Applications are also available at the reception desk at Chandler City Hall. We request forms be received no later than Oct. 10.
Float themes can identify any phase of education from early childhood through adult. Past entries have included floats, marching or walking units, cars, trucks, motorcycles, 4-wheelers, equestrian, clowns, dance and music groups, and costumed individuals. The only limitation is your imagination and your ability to travel about one mile from the starting point to Winchester Park.
