Annual homecoming for Martin Springs Baptist Church is September 14. The church will celebrate 93 years; services start at 9:30 am. There will be singing, gospel, preaching and a service honoring deacons and elders. Morning service will be followed with an old-fashion dinner on the grounds. Church is located from Chandler on FM 315. Turn right past the bridge onto FM 3079; church is about two miles down on the left.

The Brownsboro Beautification Commitee will have a meeting Thursday, September 4, in Brownsboro City Hall at 7p.m. They will meet every first Thursday of each month starting at 7p.m. The public is encouraged to attend and help support making Brownsboro more beautiful.

East Texas Back Roads Band, formerly known as Marvin and The messengers 4, has recently changed their name due to the passing of Marvin Jones. East Texas Back Roads Band will perform from 6-8:30p.m., at Parkside Shores Clubhouse, every first and third Monday of the month. Though the name has changed, this definitely does not mean the good sound of the band has. Free admission, free food and free country gospel. It's a freefor all. Edom Bakery and Grill is looking for a Guest Chef every Wednesday night through September. The Bakery will provide 5 X 7 cards on which to submit a favorite recipe.
