It is the time of the year for school to begin. The Ladies Auxiliary of Post No. 5073, Veterans of Foreign Wars, would like to let all high school students and teachers know about an art contest that the auxiliary is sponsoring that could earn you as much as $10,000 toward your college education as first place winner in the national contest.

Any student in grades 9-12 is eligible to enter the Patriotic Art Contest. There will be a winner from each VFW post in the state of Texas, but only if you enter.

Pamphlets will be distributed to the schools with more information and an entry form. "Please think about entering. We know there are many talented young people in our area. Let us proudly take your art to a state contest, " said a member of the auxiliary.
