Cutrights celebrate 50th wedding anniversary
      Donald and Frances Cutright of Chandler, Texas, will celebrate 50 years of marriage on October 4, 2008. They were married by the Rev. J.F. Cox on Friday, October 4. 1958 at Memorial Baptist Church parsonage in Killeen, Texas. Mrs. Cutright is the daughter of the late Claude and Mary Reese. Mr. Cutright is the son of the late Henry and Frances Cutright.

      Henderson County 4-H celebrated its outstanding youth, volunteers, donors, and achievements on Sunday, September 14th at the Henderson County Senior Citizens Building. This year's annual awards banquet was themed as "Aloha, 4-H Texas Style" by the Henderson County 4-H Council Officers.

Fall Hunters Rendezvous coming up
      It's nearly time for the 25th annual Fall Hunters Rendezvous. This event, presented by the Henderson County Wildlife Committee, will take place Thursday, October 9, at Henderson County Fair Park. A day of fun is waiting for the whole family, and the fun starts with free admission. It's a great way to spend the evening, and the program goes from 5:30-9:30 pm.

     Above is the queen-sized quilt that was selected for the final quilt at the 2008 Quilters Challenge. This quilt, created by 24 quilters, serves to celebrate Texas' winemaking history. Betty Atkins of Wills Point was one of the quilters involved in making this great creation. Texas is the nation's fifth-largest wine producing state, with more than 280 family-owned vineyards covering 3,100 acres. The industry contributes over $1.35 billion to the state's economy annually.
