 Above is the queen-sized quilt that was selected for the final quilt at the 2008 Quilters Challenge. This quilt, created by 24 quilters, serves to celebrate Texas' winemaking history. Betty Atkins of Wills Point was one of the quilters involved in making this great creation. Texas is the nation's fifth-largest wine producing state, with more than 280 family-owned vineyards covering 3,100 acres. The industry contributes over $1.35 billion to the state's economy annually. |
