Bears suffer first loss to the Rains Wildcats
Bailey has 1,081 passing yards through the end of pre-district play

      The Varsity Bears traveled to Emory Friday, September 26, to take on Rains at the Wildcat Stadium. Brownsboro went into this last non-district game 4-0 and Rains 0-3. The Bears fell to the Wildcats with less than a minute left to play and the game ended with 41- 47, Rains.

Freshman Bears get first win

      The freshman Bears hosted the Rains Wildcats, Thursday, September 25, at the Bears stadium. The first touchdown was made by Keuntis Thompson on a 65-yard run. Thompson also ran the ball in for the two-point conversion, making the score 8-0.

      Jimmie Johnson took the win at Kansas Speedway, Sunday, September 28. This is the third race into the Chase to the Sprint Cup and Johnson is now the leader in points. It came down, on the last lap, to Johnson and Carl Edwards. Edwards, who started 34th, was leading the race until he had some problems during a pit stop with only 47 laps to go.

All four junior high teams walk away with victories
      The junior high Bears took it to Emory, to play against the Rains Wildcats, Thursday, September 25. All four teams including 7A, 7B, 8A and 8B walked away with victories. Bears 7A team won 28-0 over Rains Scoring for the 7A team were Tyler Thomison, Leon Gilmore, Swaide Houston, Tanner Wilson, Ryan Covington and Quintis Lee.

Junior Varsity Bears beat Rains 16-6
      The junior varsity welcomed the Rains Wildcats, Thursday, September 25, at the Bears Stadium. The Bears won 16-6. After a scoreless first quarter, the Wildcats fumbled the punt and the Bears recovered. The Wildcats scored a touchdown with 2:44 left in the first half. Rains was unable to get the two-point conversion and the score was 6-0.

Bearettes hosted Wills Point, Athens and won
      The Bearettes hosted the Wills Point Tigers, on Tuesday, September 24. The Varsity Bearettes won 25-19, 21-25, 27-25 and 25- 17.

Hole-In-One
      Jane Shell hit a hole-inone Wednesday, September 24, at Echo Creek Golf Club. Shell was on the 13th hole and she used a 9-iron. Witnessing the hole-in-one was Bonnie Stringfield and Karen Richardson. Rusty Lambert hit a holein one Friday, September 19, at Echo Creek Golf Club. Lambert was on the 7th hole and he used an 8- iron.
