Brownsboro student Clinton Cooper receives TSCPA scholarship

Clinton J. Cooper of Brownsboro has been chosen by the East Texas Chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants as a 2008- 2009 scholarship recipient. He is the son of Cheryl and Cliff Cooper of Ben Wheeler, Texas.

Clinton graduated Magna Cum Laude from the 2005 graduating class of Brownsboro High School, and attended Trinity Valley Community College.

Currently a senior accounting major at the University of Texas at Tyler, Mr. Cooper performs with the UT-Tyler Wind Ensemble, serves on the Baptist Student Ministry's leadership team, and was selected for membership by the UT-Tyler Chapter of the Beta Gamma Sigma, a business honor society.

The East Texas Chapter of the TSCPA funds annual schol- arships to deserving accounting students who attend universities in the East Texas area. Recipients are selected based on their GPA in prior college studies, public service activities, various awards and honors they have received, and the recommendations of community leaders.

Scholarships are funded through the Chapter's annual sponsorship of a golf tournament in support of not only the local accounting profession, but also the future supply of skilled business professionals in the East Texas community.
