At this writing, Union Hill is in a Revival, with Brother Dennis Erwin preaching. The Revival began at the Sunday morning service, with the message being taken from Nehemiah 1:1- 11. The Erwin sons have grown into fine young men right before our eyes, their singing brings a special blessing to all, and now comes little Katie Erwin, eight years old, with a voice you just wouldn't believe ... following along in Dad's and brothers' footsteps. During the evening service, Kristopher and Katie sang without their two older brothers, as the older ones had previous commitments elsewhere. Following Brother Dennis' sermon taken from Mark 2:1-12, everyone enjoyed finger foods and desserts in fellowship hall. Wednesday night, it was pizza for the children and the youth. It's always a pleasure and a blessing to have the Erwin family at Union Hill.

This reminder from Glenda Wallace, there is plenty of room for more donations for the women's silent auction. Bring your items to the Fellowship Hall and we will put a bid sheet on it. Also, a reminder that one-half of the money raised will be given to the Awana program. Our Awana program begins on Sunday, October 12th at 6:00 p.m. Forms are available to register your children, ages 3 years through 6th grade.

To end the auction, we will have a fellowship night on Sunday evening, October 26th immediately after the service. We will announce a closing bid time and whoever has the highest bid will get the item. Bring something for bid or bid on something yourself ... or do both!

We've been urging you to get involved in the choir. They have started practice on the 2008 Christmas program and there is much excitement about the music and the message. Our Interim Music Director, Steve Goodrich, has asked that you pray for everyone involved that the Lord would use the choir as a vessel for His message.

Now some exciting news from our Youth Minister, Brother Danny Cotton. He and Coach Caldwell have been instrumental in bringing back to our schools, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. This program has been absent from Brownsboro for the past twelve years. It gives the students a time to meet together in Bible study and do service projects for our community. It is student-led and teachers, youth pastors and parents are there to support the students. The group meets every Wednesday morning at 7:15 a.m. Please be in prayer that our youth will be available to God for use in His service. Many thanks to Brother Danny for this exciting news.

Speaking of the youth, they will be traveling to Dallas on October 18th for a visit to Hell House. This is always an enlightening experience for the youth. Cost is $10 plus food, and they will leave the church at 4:00 p.m.

Couple more reminders for you. Our business meeting has been moved to October 15th, Wednesday evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, October 18th has been scheduled as a Work Day, beginning at 8:00 a.m. Come help. There's always something you can do!

I close now, asking that you join us in prayer. Pray for guidance in our upcoming elections and pray for our leaders and our nation. We need God's help on all sides. See you on the hill.
