On Saturday, October 18, the 5th Annual Crossroads Classic Car Show will be held in Pool Park from 1 a.m. till 3 p.m. It will benefit the Lindale Library.

The event has been sponsored by Long Horn Ford and Lone Star Dodge of Mineola since 2003. The dealerships will bring vehicles for display and personnel to assist visitors with information.

Last year the event had more than 250 entries from 52 cities and has grown each year since its conception.

The Best of Show last year was Greg King's 1970 Plymouth Hemi-Cuda convertible; second place was Shaawn Houston's 1965 Ford Mustang GT 350 SC; and third place was David McGlathery's 1938 Chevrolet coupe.

This year there will be 28 classes including vintage vehicles, trucks, motorcycles and tractors. Within those classes are original and modified vehicles and specific classes such as Modern Mopars, Corvettes, Mustangs, special interest and unfinished entries.

Registration is $15 if it is made before Oct. 18. Individuals may register at the Lindale Library or online at howardc@suddenlink.net. On the day of the event registration is $20. Goody bags will be given out to the first 100 to register.

This will be a judged show with three place winners plus merchant awards from local merchants. The park will have an air conditioned drivers room, food and drinks, music and games with drawings during the day.

Great American Classics of Lindale will join other sponsors this year, and booths will be added as well. At 3 p.m., drivers will take a cruise through Hideaway, and one driver will win $100.
