Bears get first district win
      Hopefully the cold crisp weather did not stop the football fans from coming out to Palestine last Friday night, October 24, to watch Brownsboro shut down the Wildcats (37-7).

Bearettes now second in district
      The Bearettes beat the Lady Cats in Palestine, Friday afternoon, October 24. Now, the team will advance to the bi-district playoff game next week on Monday, November 3, after playing Palestine Westwoods Lady Panthers, on Tuesday, October 28.

Victory for freshman Bears
      The freshman Bears didn't let the cold weather slow them down Thursday night, October 23, when they hosted the Palestine Wildcats. They set the tone for a great winning weekend for all of the Bears football teams against Palestine. They finished the night in victory with an 8-0 lead.

Texas Xtreme team seeks new players
      The Texas Xtreme Football team is a semi-professional group that is seeking new players to fulfill all positions for their upcoming 2009 season. Texas Xtreme has qualified for the playoffs six of the past seven seasons. Tryouts will be held at the Brownsboro High School practice field. Registration will begin each Saturday through November 22, starting at 10a.m.

Blue Gill Family Fishing Tournament
      Brownsboro was represented well at the Annual Bluegill Family Fishing Tournament that was held Saturday, October 11, thanks to the Ridgle family. The tournament took place at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries in Athens. First place was awarded to Pam and Zay Ridgle, second place went to Margaret Compton and Eli Ridgle and taking third place was Issac Ridgle and Shana Clark.

Junior High Bear Results
      The junior high Bears 8th grade football team traveled to Palestine, Thursday, October 23, to take on the Palestine Wildcats, while the 7th grade played Bullard Brook Hill. Bears 7B team win perfect with 8-0. Michael D'zeima scored the touchdown and ran in the conversion. Brendan Woods and James Lee Harrington led the defense in tackles.
