BES students and faculty cast their votes for president
Nathan Straus Photo The students and faculty of Brownsboro Elementary School cast their own votes for president at BES' mock election Tuesday.
The students were all happy to have their voices heard at the close of this election cycle.
Jennifer Parker and Anne McIntyre, both third grade teachers at the school, created the voting booth over the course of two days with the help of some of the students.
Parker said participation was the goal.
"We wanted the kids to participate in voting," Parker said. "We had everyone vote."
Voting started soon after school began and ended at around 10am.
Votes were recorded and tallied near 1pm.
John McCain, the Republican candidate, received 268 votes. Barack Obama, Democrat candidate, got 160. Brian Ralson, principal candidate, got one write-in vote.
