On the Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time, members of St. Boniface learned of the importance of having the confidence to take risks. In Sunday's gospel reading we heard the parable of the master, his three servants and the `talents' he gave to them. Which servant do you identify with? Are you like the third servant who had no confidence or trust in others, therefore taking no risks? As Christians it's important to have confidence (in the Lord) and to take risks (for the Lord).

The lesson of the gospel message to remember is that we are sent to this world with many gifts - He wants us to use and multiply them. Of the many, many gifts we are given, several readily stand out. In his homily, Fr. Luke spoke on the gifts of time, opportunity, talents and the gift of faith. We are called to multiply our faith, double it to help it grow and use it for the glory of God, not self. God's compassion is for those who do their best. In-born talents whether singing, organization skills, carpentry, the list goes on and on ... use them for God and for others, not self. The gift of time is to be used well. For most of us 24 hours just isn't enough. How we use those hours is the gift, given back to God. Our efforts, not always the results will win favor with our heavenly Father. Use each opportunity for the Glory of God.

Members and guests enjoyed delicious refreshments following the Sunday Mass.

Next Sunday we will have the Youth Mass at noon. All the young people of St. Boniface will act as ushers, readers, the choir and servers. It is the Feast of Christ the King and the last Sunday of the Liturgical year.

The annual parish Thanksgiving dinner will be November 23rd at 4pm in the community room. Those attending are encouraged to bring a dish. There are sign-up sheets available; St. Boniface will provide the turkey!

The month of December is al ways a busy one and this year will be no exception. Please see the bulletin for details of upcoming events. A few to mention are the bilingual Mass on Dec. 14 in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe at 10:15. A hayride is planned for the 20th from 6:30-9:00 pm. The parish Christmas party will be held on the 21st at 4pm.

Congratulations and best wishes to all who are celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

We pray for comfort and relief for those who are sick and suffering. Please continue to pray for the souls of the faithful departed, especially Horton Bunch. Words cannot fully express the feeling of loss our parish has suffered with Horton's untimely death. This beautiful man with the voice to match will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sandy and the entire Bunch family as they mourn their loss. Keep our brave men and women serving in the Armed Forces in your prayers as they continue to protect and defend our nation and its freedom.

Have a blessed week!
