Funeral services for Sean Sullivan, 16, Murchison, were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2008 at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens with Rev. Erick Graham, Rev. Matt Hollensworth, Rev. Richard Prather, and Chaplain Bob Fisher officiating.

Interment followed at Shelby Chapel Cemetery.

Sean was born November 25, 1991 in Wharton, Texas to Michael and Terrie Sullivan. He passed away November 8, 2008 in Murchison.

Sean was a member of Westside Volunteer Fire Department from November 25, 2005 to July 2008. He then joined the Murchison Volunteer Fire Department in July 2008 and served to present. He spent over a year with the Tyler Law Enforcement Explorer program where he participated in the Tyler Explorers State and National Law Enforcement Exploring Conference in Fort Collins, Colorado. Prior to those achievements he spent a year with the Chandler Police Explorers.

He spent his life serving his community through the volunteer fire department and local law enforcement agencies.

His plan was to join the Marines after high school. He had been training with the Marine Recruiting Center in Tyler.

All of Sean's accomplishments were linked together by his strong relationship with the Lord and was effective to bringing others to Christ.

Sean is survived by his father, Michael Sullivan, Murchison; mother, Terrie Sullivan, Chandler; sisters, Zandra Beth Neal, Whitehouse, Donna Sullivan, Brownsboro; grandparents,Leroy and Mary Sullivan, Conroe, W.R. and Kathleen Neal, Conroe; nephews, Dennis Caldwell II, Whitehouse, Landon Harrod, Brownsboro; niece, Haydee Caldwell, Whitehouse; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Pallbearers were Lance West, Megan Harvile, Bob Morris, Randy Morris, Chris Moore, Paul Rife, Doug Nicholson, and Rusty Quattlebaum.

Honorary pallbearers were the Fire and Police Explorers, Leroy Sullivan, Jr., David Sullivan, Duane Sullivan, Lester Neal, Tommy Neal, David Neal, Keith Neal, Sgt. Leodir Santos, Ricky Harris and Brandon Irby.
