Brownsboro gets a win in weekend tourney
      Blessed with a win against Pleasant Grove, Bear fans were also thankful to see three of their varsity athletes back on the court playing and looking healthy. Seniors Charlie Stringer and Tristain Warren along with Junior Zach Bailey all sat out in the Bullard game due to minor injuries. But by November 28th's tournament, they were back on and ready to play.

NASCAR Rear View
      While Jimmie Johnson is busy being the first driver in 30-years to win three consecutive series titles, there's still a lot of work underway for NASCAR; especially in Texas. The 2009 year will bring about several different changes not only for a handful of drivers and race teams but Texas fans in particular will also reap some benefits for the new racing season.

Junior High Bears play first game against Fairfield
      Brownsboro's junior high basketball team played their first game, Monday night, November 24. The 7B and 8B teams won while the 7A and 8A lost. The 7B win (23-17) came with points scored from Lemons 6, McLemore with 6, Essary with 4, Parker with 3, Baker had 2 and Jackson had 2.

Texas Xtreme Football tr youts
      The Texas Xtreme Football team is a semi-professional group that is seeking new players to fulfill all positions for their upcoming 2009 season. Texas Xtreme has qualified for the playoffs six of the past seven seasons. Tryouts will be held at the Brownsboro High School practice field. Registration will begin each Saturday through November, starting at 10a.m.

Chandler Lions Club gives to God's Open Hands
      The Chandler Lions Club made a recent cash contribution to God's Open Hands in support of efforts to provide year-end holiday food baskets to those in need. This contribution is one of the many ways the Lions give back to the community, and all the Lions are happy to assist with the humanitarian efforts of this organization.
