WALK ALONE You are walking through life wondering Why did God send you this person Who clearly doesn't want to walk beside you But wants to walk alone, Who states over and over again to walk your own path And they will walk theirs. You pray so hard every day to be able to be with him, To see the world with him, To experience the things he does, To live life with him, But he doesn't want the same for you. He wants to walk alone. He wants to have his own life; He wants to not be loved so much. What can you do but to watch as he goes, Wait as he's gone, miss him when he's not there. You don't want to walk alone, You want to walk with him. This is not how it's meant to be. Why are you wrong for wanting him? Why are you wrong for needing him? Why are you wrong for loving him? Why are you wrong? He runs from life, from reality, from you; You want to share life and reality with him, No matter what that might be, As long as you are together Winning against the odds as a team. You can't be a team when he wants to walk alone. The love from the beginning has turned resentful towards you, Resentful of the fact that this place isn't where he wants to be, The faces aren't who he wants to see, The people aren't who he wants to deal with, Your love isn't the love he wants to receive. It is not enough; Therefore he wants to walk alone. So what do you do? You let him be, And suffer ... as always. -Anonymous MY PERSONAL GARDEN OF EDEN Out in the back Behind the old woodshed Lies a garden of beauty Once left for dead. Under the bower Beneath the wheel barrel Grows squirrel-planted acorns Now tall like towers. Wild lilacs climb old chairs, A rustic scene overrun by weeds Is my personal Garden of Eden. by Linda Amos |
