Leagueville Baptist
Bro. Tom continued to speak to us Sunday morning about having thankful hearts. He spoke to us about the benefits of our lives, the burdens of our lives and the blessings of our lives. We should be thankful through each of these experiences. It is easy to be thankful during the benefits of our Christian lives but becomes much more challenging during the burdens of our lives. We must remember to give thanks in all things, not just the easy things.
Bro. Selman reminded us that we have two more Sundays before the Christmas Cantata. It will be presented to us on Sunday, December 14th, during the morning service. We hope that you will make plans to be here. The choir is practicing each Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Bro. Selman wants to encourage all to participate.
We had about 100 people attend our Thanksgiving Day meal. We would like to say a big thank you to those who helped plan and prepare the meal. Lots of time and prayer went into the meal and we know those who attended received a blessing on Thanksgiving Day.
The Good-Timers will be going to the 7-B Ranch Restaurant in Frankston on Tuesday, December 9th. The church bus will be leaving at 5:15 p.m. and the cost is $10 per person. Make plans now to attend!
The annual Ladies Christmas Party will be held on December 11th at Lou Jean Epperson's home. All ladies of the church are invited to attend. We know that you will enjoy this time of fellowship during the holiday season.
The children have been practicing their parts for the Christmas program each Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. The children will be going to Mazzio's Pizza after the morning service on the 14th, then on to Bethany House to sing Christmas Carols to the residents. Please make plans to join us! We also need snacks for after our practice that afternoon upon our arrival at the church. This will be the last practice before the performance on the 17th of December.
We have a few birthdays this week. We wish a happy birthday to Jim West, Tim Parker, Beth Bragdon, Angela Volentine and Angie Tippen. We missed a birthday last week - Chelsea Chambers. Sorry, Chelsea! Have a great week and remember to have a thankful heart through this holiday season.
