Services for Joseph "Joe" Andrew Perez, 21, Malakoff, were held Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home chapel, Athens, with Denny Sanderson officiating.

Burial was in Athens Cemetery.

Mr. Perez died November 22, 2008, near Brownsboro.

He was born June 8, 1987, in Dallas. He lived in Irving and Lancaster before moving to Malakoff in 1999. He graduated from Malakoff High School in 2005.

Survivors include his mother, Lisa Ann Rivera, Athens, father, Freddie Perez, Dallas; sister, Meredith Maldonado, Malakoff; brother, Jeremy Paul Leighton Perez, Malakoff; grandparent, Jo "Mawmaw" Berry, Malakoff; aunts, uncles and cousins.
