Blessed with a win against Pleasant Grove, Bear fans were also thankful to see three of their varsity athletes back on the court playing and looking healthy. Seniors Charlie Stringer and Tristain Warren along with Junior Zach Bailey all sat out in the Bullard game due to minor injuries. But by November 28th's tournament, they were back on and ready to play.

Brownsboro swept a thirty point lead game (61-31) against Pleasant Grove in the UT Tyler Burger King Classic tournament, Friday night.

Piling up half of those points for the Bears was Jacob McCarthy and Seth Martin combined. McCarthy, the highest scoring player of the game, scored 20 points and Martin had 14 points.

By the end of the first quarter Brownsboro was already up with a 16 point lead. This came with the help of McCarthy scoring on two three pointers and two free throws, Martin scoring once, along with two good free throws and Kyle Price scoring twice.

Bear McCarthy led the second quarter by putting 7 more points on the board. Brownsboro's defense was able to overwhelm Pleasant Grove, only allowing them 6 points in second period.

The quarter soon finished in a Brownsboro long-shot lead (34-10) when Brett Ralson scored and Martin added 4 points.

Brownsboro continued to take control of the game well into the third quarter and by no surprise so did McCarthy.

McCarthy racked up 5 points while Charlie Stringer, Ralson and Martin all scored.

The fourth quarter began but Pleasant Grove was unable to turn it up a notch.

Ryan Smith, Kyle Price and Seth Martin all scored 4 points while Zach Bailey and Charlie Stringer both scored and put an end to the game in favor of Brownsboro 61-31.

After a win with Pleasant Grove, the Bears suffered a close loss (57-50) to the No. 2 ranked Slocum Mustangs, Saturday, November 29.

Jacob McCarthy had the game high points lead with a total of 14, Seth Martin tallied on a total of 12 and Ryan Smith added with 10 points. Tristain Warren and Ralson both scored twice and Bailey made 2 good free throws.

Even though the entire game was a close one, the Bears couldn't overcome the Mustangs.

The game ended with a Slocum win, 57-50.

The Bears will now travel to Crandall, Tuesday, December 2, to play against the Pirates. The freshman are scheduled to play at 5p.m., junior varsity at 6:30p.m. and Varsity at 8p.m.

Brownsboro's freshmen, junior varsity and varsity will then host the Chapel Hill Bulldogs, Friday, December 5. Brownsboro 20-14-11-16 Pleasant Grove: 4-6-10-11 Brownsboro: 16-13-15-6 Slocum: 9-14-13-19
