Graveside services for Pauleta Hardegree, 96, Harper, formerly of Ben Wheeler, were held Saturday at Haven of Memories with Bro. Lou Thomas officiating. Arrangements were under direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.

Mrs. Hardegree died December 9, 2008, in Kerrville.

She was born Dec. 23, 1911, in Van Zandt County to the late Richard and Ettice Cole Heard. She grew up in Van Zandt County and moved to Goose Creek in 1941. She was a seamstress and a longtime member of Cedar Bayou Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Hardegree, and son, Danny Hardegree.

Survivors include daughter, Linda Merrill, Harper; son, Bill Hardegree, Columbus, Ga.; brother, Glen Heard, Tyler; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
