Feeding the hungry
     Courtesy Photo Chandler Elementary School had their annual food drive to support God's Open Hands. They had a goal of 1,000 items and surpassed that goal by over 200. This shows the students learned a great deal about their character word: caring. This served as a great time of year to show caring to others in the community.

Puppet time
      FCCLA helped Brownsboro Elementary PTO with activities and food for the Parents Night Out on Dec. 5. Students wrote and preformed a puppet show teaching students about nutritious snacks. They then played a snack naming game and the winner in two different age groups was named the "Healthy Hero".

Tyler Jr College Recognizes area graduates
      Tyler Junior College recognized 391 candidates for graduation at its fall commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. Friday in Wagstaff Gymnasium. Associate degrees and certificates of proficiency wwere confered by TJC President Dr. Mike Metke, who will also certify the graduates.

Brownsboro junior high teacher partners with NASA
      Gina Byford, an 8th grade science teacher at Brownsboro Junior High School, has teamed up with NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va., to provide scientific observations that will help validate some of their most prominent satellite instruments.
