Three arrested for Chandler burglary
By Nathan Straus News Reporter

An alarm went off in a Chandler home on FM 2010 Friday, December 28. The call went in at 9:15 am that there were intruders in resident Stephen McCurly's home. McCurly was notified by his alarm company at 9:21.

Henderson County Sheriff's Department Investigator Wick Gabbard said a black male subject was seen jumping out of a window at the residence.

"There was a white Chrysler Sebring in the driveway," Gabbard said. "Inside the vehicle were several firearms."

McCurly said he identified the weapons stolen as belonging to him.

"They pried the window open and stole some rifles and car audio equip- ment," McCurly said.

The vehicle used by the perpetrators, Cambron Ervin, 18, Jamie Ervin, 23 and cousin Cedric Lester, 23, was parked out front the night before the burglary, McCurly reported.

"I believe they were staking the place out," McCurly said.

In addition to rifles and audio equipment being stolen, McCurly also said a digital camera went missing.

"It wasn't recovered and I don't think I'll see it again," McCurly said.

McCurly added he is still waiting for some of the items to get back from the Henderson County Sheriff's department.

Gabbard said Cambron Ervin, one of the burglars, was also charged with possession of marijuana.

"He had a bit of marijuana in his pocket," Gabbard said.

There was a warrant for Cambron's arrest.

Jamie Ervin, Gabbard also said, was also taken in for possession of firearms. Cedric Lester was wanted on parole violation.

After the burglary the suspects were quickly captured. One was found in another residence hiding under a bed, while another subject was located under a bush.

"We called in the dogs and they sniffed him out," Gabbard said. "It took about three or four minutes for the dogs to find him."

McCurly said this was the second time in two months his house had been robbed.

"Last time they pried in the back door," McCurly said. "That was when I got the alarm. It saved a lot of headache this time."

McCurly also said during the last robbery some jewelry, a pistol, 4-wheeler titles and old two dollar bills were stolen. He never found out who took them.

"The cops did an excellent job, and the alarm system really works," McCurly said.
