Faith Baptist Chandler
by Melva Allison

We trust everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and now we are looking forward to a great 2008.

In keeping with the Christmas season, the church provided ten needy families with gift cards and food for Christmas.

All of the church services and activities are back to their regular schedule. Our Sunday morning worship services continue to be inspiring. Bro. David began a series of sermons last week on "Principles of Worship." Brian Penny is now leading our music. We would like to encourage anyone who likes to sing for the Lord to join the choir.

We welcome the many guests in our worship services and encourage them to worship with us again.

The first game night of the year was held last Friday night with a good crowd in attendance. The group enjoyed a delicious meal and lots of friendly competition. Anyone is welcome to join them at 6:00 p.m. on the first Friday night of each month.

The Top of the Hill Gang met for lunch at the Cotton Patch Friday, January 11, at noon. Those present were Jerry and Joyce Houston, Joe and Mary Waddill, Warren and Nita LeMaster, Stephen and Connie Giles, Paul and Dorothy McMillan, John and Ginny Dabbs, Paul and Betty Peavy, Jack and Maxine Barnes, Chris Weeks, Ed and Tincy Robinson, Lee Godsey, Melva Allison, and Bill and June Mays. The group meets for lunch on the second Friday of each month. If you enjoy eating and good fellowship, join them each month.

Melva and Robert Allison hosted a fish fry Saturday in honor of their daughter, Lisa Palmer, on her birthday.

Our condolences are extended to the family of Betsi Wyatt in her untimely death. Continue to keep this family in your prayers.

Benita and Hugh Carver are now getting settled in their new house.

We invite all those who do not have a church home and who would like to be part of a loving church family to join us in our weekly worship services and activities. There is a place for everyone. Sunday worship services include Bible study at 9:45, morning worship at 10:45, and evening worship at 6:00. On Wednesdays, there is a fellowship meal provided from 5:30-6:30, youth Bible study, GAs and RAs at 6:15, and adult Bible study/prayer meeting at 6:30 p.m., followed by choir practice at 7:00 p.m.

Happy New Year to all!
