Union Hill Baptist
by Mickey Bigbie

With his arm in a sling and in a great deal of pain, Brother Bill delivered an especially great message Sunday morning, or maybe it just hit home with me, but it sure was good.

It was taken from the Books of Hebrews and Genesis. Brother Joe Cantrell sang a beautiful song, entitled "Wilt Thou be Made Whole." Just seemed like it was an exceptional service.

We ask that you all join us in prayer for Brother Bill as he has surgery Friday on his rotator cuff, damaged when he took a bad fall a few weeks back.

Pray that God will guide the hands of the surgeon as he repairs the damage. Brother Bill is always there for us whenever we need him and now he needs our prayers as he faces surgery and a lengthy recuperation period.

You know that Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Don't forget your own sweetie!

The Youth of Union Hill will have their Valentine dinner and movie Saturday evening, February 9th. The cost is $15.00 per person and money should be turned in by Sunday, February 3rd. If you have any questions, please contact Danny Cotton at the church.

The Valentine Fiesta for Adults, which includes dinner and a movie, will be held at the church on Friday, February 15th, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Dinner will consist of fajitas and all the fixings, catered by The Jalapeno Tree.

Cost is $13.00 per person and good news ... dress for the evening is casual. Money is due by Wednesday, February 6th.

Our 4th, 5th and 6th graders will be goiing to camp on February 1st through the 3rd.

If you have any last minute questions, call Danny. We're sure to have some exciting reports when they get back.

The very little ones, students in our Kingdom Kare, will be having a fundraiser throughout the month of February. They are collecting "loose change" to purchase equipment and supplies.

You will find collection jars in various locations at the church, so drop your loose change in one of the containers and help support the youngsters.

Words from Brother Joe's beautiful song Sunday morning, asked "Do you want a new life?" What better way to begin the new year, than to set serious thought to that question. If your answer is yes, or if it's just a doubtful hesitation, then come visit us and learn how to have a new life through God's Word. We welcome you and look forward to our meeting. See you on the hill.
