David Wayne Leonard

Funeral services for David Wayne Leonard, 52, of Brownsboro were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at the Leagueville Baptist Church with Tom Bragdon officiating. Interment followed at the Grace Hill Cemetery in Longview. He passed away Sunday morning in Tyler. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Cooper Funeral Home of Athens.

David Leonard was born September 15, 1955 in Longview, Texas, to Lewis and Glena Craver Leonard, Sr. He was raised in Brownsboro and graduated from Brownsboro High School in 1974. After graduation he worked for Dealers Electric and Summers Electric in Tyler, and later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he lived for 10 years and worked at Imperial Palace and The Orleans. He returned to Henderson County in 2002. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Rufus and Birdie Craver, L.L. and Ola Mae Leonard, and William and Donnie Shavor.

Mr. Leonard is survived by his mother and step-father, Jearl and Jean Shavor of Brownsboro; brothers, Lewis Leonard Jr. and wife Theresa of Brazoria, Dennis Shavor and wife DeDe of Sacramento, California; sister, LeaAnn Pitones and husband George of Arlington; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
