James Edward Tays

Services for James Edward Tays, 71, Chandler, were held Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Chandler, with the Revs. Dr. Russ Munch and Jim Griffin officiating.

Burial was in Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery under direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Tays died January 13, 2008, in Marshall.

He was born March 2, 1936, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and lived in the Chandler area for 25 years. He retired from the Navy and Army National Guard and was a correctional officer for Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Chandler, and a Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Tays, Chandler; sons, Shannon Tays, Chandler, and Kenneth Tays, New York City, NY; daughter, Rebecca Tays, Bedford; sisters, Sheila Green, Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Rita Daughtery, Conway, Arkansas; and two grandchildren.
