Dick Scott to speak at Murchison FUMC

On Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 11 a.m., Richard (Dick) E. Scott will bring his inspirational message to the congregation at FUMC, Murchison, when he speaks on his missionary work in India. He will also touch on his personal testimony which includes "My coaching points on living day to day for Jesus."

Dick was born and grew up in the Murchison community. He accepted Christ as his personal saviour at the Murchison First United Methodist Church. He graduated from Brownsboro High School in 1946 and Texas A&M in 1950 and attained his masters degree from SMU in 1958.

In 1953-54 he taught and was head coach at Brownsboro. He then went into the Air Force and attained the rank of Captain. Dick coached for 15 years in Texas high schools.

In 1969, with a loan from his brother Dan, he bought 500 acres on Lake Taneycomo near Branson, Missouri and is still developing that land and spending his time in ministry as a volunteer to establish prayer groups, churches and activities which bring praises to Jesus Christ.

February 15, 1999, Dick was ordained to minister by Grace Point Church Nondenominational Christian Organization in Missouri.

In addition to his work as a land developer near Branson, he is president of Carmel Prayer Tower of USA, which finances and administrates the work of a college, an orphans' home and a growing group of Christian churches in the nation of India.

Dick and his wife Gail live in Forsyth, Missouri. That is a home base for their eight grown children and their families.
