St. Boniface Catholic On the Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time members of St. Boniface were given the recipe for living a holy life in the readings. In his homily, Deacon Steve Curry spoke of the Divisions in Paul's time ... some people wanted to "run" things. In Jesus' own words we are told, "Whoever wants to lead must serve the rest." These words were spoken as Jesus washed the feet of His Disciples. We must all humble ourselves before the Lord, within our families and our church community. When we seek forgiveness, when we approach family and community by "blessing them" we begin our own conversion experience. Lent is approaching. The Lenten season is an opportunity for an intense experience of conversion. Our following Jesus is a direct response to the multitude of blessngs he has bestowed upon us. A pancake breakfast was served by the youth of St. Boniface. Thanks to everyone who supported this fundraising event. Practices for the presentation of the Passion Play, scheduled for March 15th and 16th continue to be held on Monday and Thursday evenings at the church. There is always room for more participants! Contact a Passion Play committee member for more information. The Altar Society will meet on Monday, February 11th at 6:30 p.m. Phyllis Wood will be this month's facilitator. Refreshments will be served. Don't forget to bring a canned or non-perishable food item for the collection box. We invite all ladies of the Parish to join us for fun, food, and fellowship (with a little business, too)! Deacon Steve Curry has made the new Liturgical Ministers schedule. He has a copy for everyone who participates in the Mass as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and Usher. Thank you, Steve for the outstanding job. We appreciate your hard work! Please check the weekly bulletin for information on the Lenten schedule. Congratulations and best wishes to all who are celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. We continue to pray for those who are sick and suffering. Remember, too, the faithful departed; may they rest in peace. We ask the Lord's blessings and protection for the men and women of the Armed Services who continue to keep us free and safe. God bless each of you! |
