Donation account set up at local bank for Dawn Wilson
By Nathan Straus News Reporter

Dawn (Thompson) Wilson
Murchison resident Dawn Thompson Wilson passed away in a lethal wreck that also killed Michael Prock. The accident occurred Saturday, January 26 during the early morning hours on FM 2339.

Wilson, the driver, lost control of the vehicle going into a curve and crashed into a ditch.

The vehicle ended up upside down in a pour-off between Callender and Hickory Hill Lake. At the time of this publication the autopsy on the victims is still underway; it is uncertain whether the impact killed the driver and passenger or whether they drowned.

Glenda Williams, friend of the Thompson family, said Dawn's funeral was Saturday, February 2.

"The funeral expenses amounted to around $5,000 just for her," Williams said.

To meet the goal of paying for the funeral cost Williams has set up an account at Citi- zens State Bank. The account, accessible from any Citizens State Bank, can receive money on request from any generous individual.

"Tell the bank it is for the benefit of Dawn Wilson," Williams said.

Dawn Thompson Wilson, Williams said, was always a happy-go-lucky and carefree person in life.

"She never met a stranger," Williams said. "If Dawn didn't know you she would get to know you."

Wilson leaves behind two children, Reese and Hayden, seven and four, respectively. She graduated Brownsboro High School in 1998 and passed away at the young age of 28.

"The family is taking it very hard," Williams said. "They just lost a grandson five or so months ago to a drowning. This is very traumatic for them."

Wilson was born in Oregon and spent most of her life in the Brownsboro area.
