The Spaghetti Dinner hosted by the Brownsboro Band Dept., Feb. 7 has been canceled due to sickness.

CBACC will be having their Annual Awards Banquet Feb. 7. The silent auction will begin at 6:30 followed by the dinner and program at 7. Nomination ballots for this years awards must be taken from The Statesman located on page 9, only official ballots will be counted.

Class of 1988 -20 Year Reunion SAVE THE DATE! We're having a very casual affair on June 14 so we need to find you ASAP. Please send us your contact info including name(gals include your maiden name), mailing address, phone numbers, and email addresses. Country Music at Poynor Civic Center-Thurs., Feb. 7 at the Frankston Healthcare Center. The meal will be gumbo and rice and will be served from 6-7 PM. Music from 6:30-9:30 PM featuring the Country Gents, Open mic. Donations for the food will benefit the residents of Frankston Healthcare Center. Anyone who wishes may bring a dessert. Kickapoo Creek 4H Club will have their monthly meeting on Mon., Feb. 11 at 6:30 PM at Opelika Missionary Baptist Church. Livestock show entries will be completed at this meeting. Contact Darla Williams at (903)469-3639.

BISD will host a reception for Travis Foster, our retiring Maintenance Director, on Wed., Feb. 13, from 2-4 in the Central Office Board Room.

East Texas Girls Softball has begun registration for the upcoming season. Forms will be passed out at all BISD schools. They are also available at Copeland Drug Store and Chandler City Hall. You may also go to our web site, www.leaguelineup.com/etgs and download a form. Forms can be mailed or dropped off at the girls Little Dribblers game on Feb. 16 , 23, and March 1. Sunday, Feb. 17, First United Methodist Church at Murchison will welcome Dick Scott who will speak at 11 AM on his missionary work in India and touch on his personal testimony, which includes his coaching points on living day to day for Jesus. Dick is a former resident and high school teacher/coach in the Brownsboro/Murchison area. A covered dish lunch will follow. For more info call (903)469-3780.

BIS Taks Talk Night- Mon., Feb. 18 from 3:30-6:30 as well as teacher/parent conferences for child's progress.

Henderson County Teen Court Assoc. will be having a Chili Supper and Auction on Feb. 25 at the Senior Citizen's Building located at the Henderson County Fairgrounds from 5-8 PM. Ticket prices are $5 per person. The proceeds will help educate teen offenders and volunteers about how our judicial system works. The public is welcome and we hope to see you there.

BMC Baseball Registration is now in progress. Forms may be picked up at BISD schools, Chandler City Hall, or Lil Dribbler games Sat. 9-5 and also available online at www. leaguelineup.com/bmcbb under the Handouts section. Forms must be postmarked by Feb. 23 or they will need to include a late fee. Absolutely no forms after March 1. A skills assessment will take place at Winchester Park on Feb. 23 starting at 1 PM until finished. Coaches meeting will be Feb. 24 at 2 PM, location TBD and Draft March 2 (coaches only) will start at 2 PM by Divisions in Chandler Comm. Center. North 19 Volunteer Fire Dept. is sponsoring their first annual Valentine's Sweetheart Dance Fundraiser on Sat. Feb. 9 from 7-10 PM. The dance will be at the Henderson County Fairgrounds at 3344 S HWY 31 E in Athens. The cost is a $5 minimum donation per person. There will be a live band and a raffle. The Quilters Guild monthly meetings will take place on Feb. 14, 9:30 AM social, 10 AM meeting. There will be a show and share, guest welcome at small fee. The Henderson County Political Forum, sponsored by Henderson Cty. Republican Women, will be held at TVCC in Athens on Feb. 21 from 7-8:30 PM. Candidates, please be there by 6:30 PM. The Ten Star All Star Basketball Camp applications are now being evaluated. This camp is by invitation only. Boys and girls ages 10-19 are eligible to apply. College B-Ball scholarships are possible for players selected to the All-American Team. There is also a Summer Camp available for boys and girls ages 6-18 of all skill levels. Practices for the March 15 and 16 performances of the Passion Play are being held Mon. and Thurs. evenings (6:30) at St. Boniface. Several area churches are participating. Plans are being made to organize a 10 year reunion for the BHS class of 1998. Alumni are encouraged to contact Brandee Boyd Ratliff at bhsclassof98@aol.com with their current contact information. The reunion is scheduled for the fall of `08 and information on former classmates is greatly appreciated.

Free Income Tax Assistance provided by AARP volunteers. You can help us support the fine arts by purchasing your homemade gourmet thru our website www.homemadegourmet.com/ brownsborotheaterangels or pick up selected products at Ellis Mercantile on Hwy 31 east of Chandler on north side of highway before FM 2661. Special thanks to Ellis Mercantile for allowing us to set up in their store.

Starting Dec. 13 and every Thursday following, St. Stephen's Anglican Church in Athens will host a day care service for Senior Citizens at 2101 East College St. Care will be available from 8AM-4PM. Lunch will be served at noon. The fee for the service is $4 for the first hour and $3 for each additional hour. There are limitations on guests that may be accommodated; reservations are required. Urgent! Meals On Wheels in the Chandler area is in Real Need for a volunteer to deliver meals to some people. This is an opportunity for someone to give back and receive a blessing. It will only take about an hour of your time to deliver to 25 needy individuals in our community and for only one day a week. Lake Palestine United Methodist Church has collected the best recipes from group members, family, and friends and compiled them into an attractive, keepsake cookbook. They will begin selling them on Nov. 12. The cookbooks may be purchased from any church member, or at the church. All proceeds will go to the Angel Food Trailer Fund.
