JV Bearettes win two, improve to 24-5

Canton and Bullard were the latest two teams to fall to the Junior Varsity Bearettes as Brownsboro swept the district opponents last week.

On Tuesday the Bearettes edged Canton 43-42 as Nichole Pickett led the girls in scoring with 18 points. Chelsea Chambers knocked in the Bearettes only 3-pointer of the game.

Outscoring the Lady Panthers 11-2 in the first period on Friday the Bearettes rolled to a 50-28 win in Bullard.

Pickett led the team in scoring with 15 points while Montoya Hightower also scored in double figures with 10 points.

Overall the Bearettes are 24-5 on the season and 7-2 in district play.

Brownsboro's final game of the season was played on Tuesday against Athens. Results from the game will be in next week's paper.
