Nina Wallace

A celebration of praise, for the life of Nina Wallace was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Chandler First Assembly of God Church under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home. Wallace Rains, grandson, and Rev. Mickey Ellis officiated. Music was provided by her granddaughters, Kathy Hargett, Mary Parker, Laura Tedford, and Amanda Moore. Burial was in Chandler Cemetery.

She was born November 22, 1914 in Alabama to Abbit and Sarah Ann Beam. When she was seven years old, the family moved to East Texas to the Teaselville area. There she met and married Milton Wallace.

In 1944 God placed on Rev. M.A. Wallace's heart to begin an Assembly of God Church in Chandler. Bro. Wallace served as pastor until 1965 when he went Home to be with the Lord. Nina Wallace, an ordained Assembly of God Minister, was asked to continue as pastor; she had assisted him in the ministry. She was pastor for six years. She was also an LVN. She worked several years at ETMC and also Colonial Manor Nursing Center where her mother, Sarah Ann Beam was a resident.

Mrs. Wallace passed away Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Chandler Nursing Center where she was a resident for four years. The past five months, Compassionate Hospice Care has given her much loving care.

She is survived by three daughters, Joye and Joe Rains, Sarah and Randy Parker, and Linda Parker. She has six grandchildren, Kathy Hargett, Wallace Rains, Mary Parker, Laura Tedford, Brian Parker, and Amanda Parker. She has 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Wallace was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Milton Wallace, her mother, Sarah Ann Beam, a sister, Gladys Scritchfield, and brothers, John, Commer, Will and Loftin Beam.

Pallbearers were Bruce Beam, Joe Bryant Beam, Bernie Wayne Beam, Commer Beam, Larry Hargett, and David Tedford.
