Bear football players named to all area teams

In what should be the last 2007 football season awards, several Brownsboro Bear football players earned honorable mention while Ryan Epperson brought home top awards.

Smoaky.com released its `2007 All Smoaky.com football team' and five Bears earned an honorable mention spot while Epperson was named Defensive Player of the Year and first team linebacker.

The Smoaky.com team includes 146 East Texas High School programs making it the largest awards team in the area.

Sophomore quarterback Zach Bailey earned honorable mention as `dual-threat quarterback ' while Epperson earned honorable mention at fullback. Keith Johnson, a junior, earned honorable mention at wide receiver.

On defense David Rudd and Tristian Warren earned honorable mention honors at safety. Rudd also was named to the honorable mention team as a punter.

Tyler Morning Telegraph released its All East Texas Team and Epperson was named the Defensive player of the Year.

Bailey earned honorable mention on Tyler's team at quarterback. Johnson earned a spot as a receiver.

Rudd and Warren both earned a spot at defensive back. Rudd was also named to the honorable mention team as a punter.
