Subvarsity Bears They started the season out hot but after losing several players to the Varsity team the JV Bears have had a hard time winning games. Brownsboro lost both district games last week dropping their season record to 10- 15 and their district record to 0-9. Last Tuesday the Bears fell to Athens 70-32. On Friday the Bears lost to Van 50-29. In Tuesday's loss the Bears were led in scoring by Daniel Myer with 15 points. Myer nailed a 3-pointer for the Bears. On Friday Myer also hit a 3-pointer but it was Austin Adair and Ryan Cawthon who led the team in scoring with nine points each. Bret Tidwell and Adair also hit threes against Van.
By splitting district games last week the Freshman Bears improved to 16-8 on the season and 6-3 in district play. Brownsboro opened the week by falling to Athens by the score of 49-33. Ryan Owens led the Bears in scoring with 13 points against Athens. Owens hit three 3-pointers. On Friday the Bears fought hard and defeated Van by the score of 36-25. Corbin Duke led the Bears in scoring with 12 points. Owens also reached double figures in scoring with 11 points. The Bears final game of the season was played on Tuesday night after press time in Chapel Hill. Results from the Chapel Hill game will appear next issue. |
