Henderson County early voting underway

Early voting for the March 4 presidential primary elections are underway as of Tuesday, February 19. Early voting will continue until Friday, February 29.

Locations are:

- Chandler Substation at 460 S Broad St. (8-11:30 am and 12:30-4:30 pm)

- The Courthouse Basement in Athens at 100 E. Tyler (8 am - 5 pm)

- Seven Points City Hall at 428 E. Cedar Creek Parkway (8-11:30 am and 12:30-4:30 pm)

Running for office are:

- Rick Noriega for Senator on the Democrat side

- Betty Brown and Wade Gent for State Representative District 4 on the Republican side

- Victor Morales for State Representative District 4 as a Democrat

- Carter Tarrance and Barry Bilger are competing for District Judge as Republicans

- Donna R. Bennett and R. Scott McKee for District Attorney as Republicans

- James Owen and Clint Davis as County Attorney on the Republican side

- Milburn Chaney, unopposed for County Tax Assessor- Collector as a Democrat

- Joe D. Hall and Bud Henry are running for Precinct 1 Commissioner as Republicans

- Sammie Cumby and Daryl Graham for Precinct 1 Constable as Democrats

- Norman L. Terry is unopposed for Precinct 2 Constable as a Republican

- Ronny Lawrence and Hank Rogers are vying for Precinct 3 Commissioner, Lawrence as a Republican and Rogers as a Democrat.

- David Grubbs, Republican, is unopposed for Precinct 3 Constable as a Republican.

- Rick Stewart, a Republican, runs against Democrat John Floyd for Precinct 4 Constable

- Brad Miers is unopposed for Precinct 5 Constable as a Republican

- Michael D. Warren is similarly unopposed for Precinct 6 Constable with the same party

- A.W. "Tony" Allison, Mitch Baker and Ray Nutt are all competing for Sheriff on the Republican ticket. Bill Casey is running for the office as a Democrat.

- Jack L. Ward, Democrat, is unopposed for County Surveyor

- Republican Don Geddie is unopposed for the office of Chairman, H.C.R.P.

- Democrat Ray Smith is likewise unopposed for Chairman of the H.C.D.P.
