Xtreme fall in season debut
      The Athens based Texas Xtreme semi-professional football team opened the 2008 season Saturday against the host, North Dallas Cowboys and lost the game 18-0. Xtreme owners Gary Craig and Larry Anding were embarrassed with the team's worst offensive performance in their 7-year team history.

Brownsboro claims first place at golf meet
      Playing in just their second tournament of the year the Brownsboro boys golf team captured first place in the Eustace Tournament on Monday. Drew Pirtle led the Bears to the win as he shot a 76 overall. Pirtle also claim the individual first place award.

Panthers end Bears' playoff run

      The Brownsboro Bears basketball team is improving each season under the direction of head coach Jeff Hutchins. Brownsboro ended the 2007- 08 basketball season last Tuesday night with a 56-48 loss to Mabank in the Bi-District round of the playoffs at Wills Point.
