Union Hill Baptist Can you believe it's already the last week of February?! Time goes so quickly. Makes you realize how you need to address those things you've been "putting off." We have all, with heavy hearts, seen over the past few weeks just how abruptly lives can change. It's time to get priorities in order and quit procrastinating about the all important decisions we need to make. It's easy to put off such thoughts. Needless to say, we should not. We had a beautiful Sunday, gorgeous weather, church services that fed the hungry soul and heartwarming fellowship with family and friends ... what better way to spend a day. Spring is not too far off and lots of good stuff is coming up at Union Hill. Let's quickly go over some of what's ahead. All you lucky folks who participate in Senior Moments (the first Thursday of each month) have another good time coming up on March 6th. Games and snacks ... great fun. Of course Family Fellowship is always on the last Wednesday night of the month, another great opportunity for special fellowship and, lest we forget, lots of good food too. Something we all like ... a garage sale, will be happening in the month of March (more info on donation of items and time to shop, will be coming your way as the time approaches.) Easter Sunday is March 23rd and in preparation, our choir is meeting each Sunday evening at 5:00 to practice on, what I hear, is going to be a very beautiful program. There will be more details later as well as details on the Sunrise Service to be held on Easter morning. Let's skip on over to April and talk about our wonderful biker ministry, The Wheels of Mercy. They will be attending the Circuit Riders Campout at Daniel Springs April 4-6th. We'll get you more details on their upcoming activities too. This past weekend, our very own Nita Sargent was the special guest speaker to one hundred, forty women attending a great retreat at the Northcutt Retreat Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Nita is a very special lady, dedicated to the Lord, a marvelous person and a fine example for all of us to follow. She and her husband Mark and daughter Angela Northcutt are very active in our church, a blessing to all of us. We have had a good many visitors at Union Hill this month and it was our pleasure meeting each of you and our blessing to be able to worship with you. We bid you come back to see us. We loved having you! We pray that you will have a wonderful week, with few trials and many blessings. Remember, Daylight Saving Time begins March 9th. For those of us who get up early anyway, it won't be so bad. For you others, once the initial shock of getting up an hour earlier wears off, we will all be grateful for the additional hour of daylight, the extra time to do spring yard duties, the time to play outdoors, the time to go to evening church services and/ or visiting and get home before dark, for the additional time to work in the field and on and on and on ... God bless you all. See you on the hill. |
