Lake Palestine U.M.C.
by Barbara Cade

We were very blessed on Sunday to be surrounded by so much talent. Everyone really enjoyed having guest musicians, Gail Johnson and Susan Romo leading the music. Their duet was also especially beautiful.

Then, Alex Martin surprised and delighted everyone with a rap song. It was about walking with Jesus. He did a great job.

The United Methodist Women met last Tuesday night, while the Methodist Men will meet this Saturday morning for breakfast. All the men and women of the church are invited to participate in these groups.

Charlie Varnell celebrated his birthday last Saturday, but he got a surprise he certainly didn't want early Sunday morning. He and Gayle's boathouse on the lake burned to the ground in the middle of the night. It was quite a loss, and we pray they can rebuild soon.

Charles Johnson, who is now back in Tyler, is improving. He took a little downturn last week, but with a change of medication, is doing a lot better.

Bennie Brown hasn't been feeling well this past week. We are praying for her.

It was good to see Joyce Martin in church on Sunday. She is gradually recovering from her surgery.

Matthew Price was proud to introduce his new baby brother to everyone in the church on Sunday. His name is Cooper David Price, and he is now only a little over a week old. We want to congratulate the Price family on their new addition.

Angela Martin is collecting plastic Easter eggs and candy in a box in the back of the church for the Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 22nd at 2:00 p.m. Anyone who wants to contribute these items can bring them to the church.

Herb and Dorothy Botts have had a lot of friends and family who were sick this past few days. Keep all of them in your prayers.

Also, Martha Different is starting a list for Easter lilies. See her if you want to order some.

Donna Franko had to make a trip to the emergency room due to an allergic reaction to some medication. She seems to be doing fine now. She reports that she even went to see the TJC production of "Little Shop of Horrors."

A group from the church went down to Frankston for lunch on Sunday.
