Lions Den Chandler

First, we wish to thank Mr. Bill Snow, one of our Lions and a WWII veteran, for an informative program at our last meeting. He discussed his experiences with the United States Navy's submarine fleet and his service assignments that covered the world. Your dedication is appreciated by all of us. Thanks so much, Bill!

Wow, are the Lions going to be out and about in the community in March working on our many projects. There are more than forty Lions and we have lots to do to raise funds for Kids Summer Camp, for Sight programs, and other projects, and hope you will be generous in helping us meet our fundraising goals.

Hey, have you seen the two beautiful lap quilts to be raffled on Tax Day, April 15? Both are handmade; one has a beautiful replica of the Lord's Last Supper (59" x 67"), and the second includes the "Footprints in the Sand" poem (48" x 55"). Each is padded and backed with a coordinating fabric and washable. Purchase your chances for $1 each, or 6 for $5 from any Lion. Ruby Simon is chairing this project, so contact her at 849-6056 for tickets or further information.

We invite you to participate in our other fundraising projects in March:

March 18 - Spaghetti Supper, 4pm-7pm, Chandler Community Center.

March 22 - White Cane Collection, 8am-12 noon, Hwy 31 & FM 315 intersection.

If you see us in our gold and purple jackets, ask us about our projects and offer your assistance. Better yet, come to a meeting and see what we are about. All residents of Henderson and surrounding counties are invited to attend. Regular meetings are the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Chandler Community Center. For more details, contact Pat Kambhu at 903- 849-6355.
