James Richard Vickers
Services for James Richard "J.R." Vickers, 68, of Brownsboro, were held Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Rock Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Weems officiating.

Burial was at Rock Hill Cemetery under direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Vickers died March 1, 2008, in Brownsboro.

He was born February 24, 1940 in Leesburg, Texas and had lived in the Chandler area for 45 years. He was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church. He was a manager for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and was a 32nd degree Mason in the Chandler Lodge. Mr. Vickers served in the U.S. Army and National Guard, was a 1st Lt. and veteran of the Korean War.

Preceding him in death was a son, David Vickers.

Survivors are his former wife and mother of his children, Earlene Vickers of Brownsboro; son, Adam Vickers, Brownsboro; daughter, Becky Baker of Tyler; brother, Charles Vickers of Philadelphia, PA; sisters, Mary Duvall of Georgetown, Tx. and Nancy Godsey of Chandler; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lloyd Martin, Roger Goodsell, Lawrence Dunn, David Jones, Mark Hammack, Roland Navarro.
