Tournament action unkind to Bearettes

The TASO Tournament at Lindsey Park last Thursday through Saturday is a tournament the Bearettes would like to forget.

Brownsboro lost the opening pool play game to Whitehouse 9-0. The pool games in this tournament do not count towards the Bearettes season record as the games were all three innings.
In the second game of pool play the Bearettes tied 0-0 with John Tyler. Chelsea Holcomb pitched three innings for the Bearettes allowing just one hit while striking out four batters. Lindsey Wood, Randi Smith and Carley Smith each had a hit for the Bearettes.
Playing Grand Saline in the final pool game the Bearettes fell by the score of 11-2. Lacey Pettit scored both Bearette runs. Pettit, Wood and Krystin Groothuis all had hits for Brownsboro.
In tournament action on Saturday the Bearettes lost to + Bullard 10-0 and Arp 1-0. Both of the losses counted against the Bearettes season record. After the tournament the Bearettes record on the season now stands at 6-4.
The Bearettes lost at Kaufman last Tuesday 7-2. Against Kaufman the Bearettes recorded 11 hits in the loss. Groothuis was perfect at the plate as she recorded a hit in all three plate appearances.
Brownsboro will play in the Lindale Tournament starting at 9:00am today. In the first pool game the Bearettes will play Whitehouse.
All Bearette pool games will be played at the Lindale High School softball field.
At 2:15pm today the Bearettes will play White Oak in pool play. At 5:45 New Diana is scheduled to be the Bearettes final pool game of the tournament.
