JV hardball action

The Junior Varsity girls softball team lost to Robert E. Lee on Friday, February 22 by the score of 6-3 in Brownsboro.

In the loss Taylor Barnes, Ashleigh Alford, Jessica Dingler, Candie Pueschell and Krystan Whitley all singled for the Bearettes.

Pitching for the Bearettes was Taylor Barnes and Allison Palmer. Barnes faced 11 batters, struck out three and gave up three hits. Palmer faced 16 batters and allowed six hits and struck out three batters.

On Tuesday, February 26 the Bearettes traveled to Kaufman and tied the Lady Lions 5-5.

Allison Palmer faced all 22 Lady Lions and struck out five batters while surrendering eight hits.

Recording singles for the Bearettes were Alford, Palmer, Barnes, Haley Suggs, Pueschell and Kayla Winnett.

The Bearettes will play in the Athens Tournament on March 13-15. Brownsboro has won three games this season, lost three games and tied one game as of Tuesday.

Saturday, March 1 the Junior Varsity Bears baseball team lost to Grace Community by the score of 13-10. Monday's scheduled game against Van was canceled due to rain.

Against Grace, Justin Vause recorded three hits and Scott Spearman had three hits and four runs batted in.

The Bears Junior Varsity team is scheduled to play against the Crandall Pirates this Saturday, March 8 at 1:00pm in Brownsboro. On Monday, March 10 the Bears will play in Chapel Hill against the District 14-3A Bulldogs.
