Union Hill Baptist
by Mickie Bigbie

Members and guests gathered on a clear, crisp Palm Sunday morning to witness a beautiful, beautiful service. Joe Cantrell had the special music and special it was! It was so stirring and was then followed by a moving message from Brother Bill about the crucifixion of Jesus.

May I remind you of the Easter Sunrise Service to be held on Jennings Mountain at 7:00 Easter morning. You're all invited to join in as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. If you have not been to the Easter service on the mountain, please come. Turn south off Hwy 31 at the red light by the Jr. High School and follow the road south to the "tee," turn right and follow the road on up the mountain. You'll see the sign on your left. You can't get lost, just follow the traffic. The service usually lasts about thirty minutes and it's an awesome experience.

Children at Union Hill were scheduled to have a nighttime egg hunt during Wednesday night services on the 19th. It's always a unique and fun way to hunt by flashlight and the kids always have a blast!

On Saturday, March 22, there will be an outing for Union Hill's school-age children (pre-schoolers must be accompanied by a parent). We will meet at the church at 1:15 p.m. for hot dogs, chips and a drink, then on to a movie at Time Square Cinema to see "Horton Hears a Who" (rated G). The cost per person is $10 which includes a snack at the movie.

After the morning service on Sunday, the 30th, our Youth will have a fundraiser lunch. Moms, don't go home and cook. Stay for the Taco Plate Lunch. It's going to be yummy and no clean-up to do! Donations will be accepted to help the Youth.

In this time of a somewhat shaky economy, with fuel prices so high, which in turn causes an increase in almost everything, there are many, many folks out there who are faced with what seems to them to be insurmountable problems. Whether their troubles be financial, emotional, healthwise or spiritual, let's all join together in prayer for our fellowman. Whether you are the one praying or you are the object of those prayers, God will bless you. It just takes a moment, and He hears every prayer.

Lastly, I remind our own Union Hill family that we'll be serving breakfast for you at the church at 8:30 following the Easter Sunrise Service. Sunday School will start at 9:30 and our regular morning service will begin at 10:30 this time. See you on the hill.
