JV Bears double-up Eagles

      The Irish luck was not with the Canton Eagles on Monday night as they took Bear Field wearing solid green jerseys on Saint Patrick's Day. Wearing white jerseys with blue under shirts the Junior Varsity Brownsboro Bears defeated the Eagles in both games of the District 14-3A double-header.

East Texas Wolves upset Texas Xtreme 19-6
      The Athens based Texas Xtreme semi-pro football team hosted the East Texas Wolves Saturday night at Brownsboro High School stadium. The Xtreme were defeated by a score of 19-6 to drop their season record to 1-3. The Xtreme entered the game with an 8-0 all-time record against the Wolves.

Bearettes fall in district opener

      In their only game last week the Brownsboro Bearettes fell to the Athens Lady Hornets in the District 14-3A season opener 17-0. Brownsboro is scheduled to play in Chapel Hill today at 1 p.m. The Lady Bulldogs lost to Van 15-0 to open district play.

`Road Warriors' travel to Chapel Hill

      Deemed the "Road Warriors" by head coach Joe Fleming the Brownsboro Bears will travel to Chapel Hill tonight to compete in District 14-3A action. Fleming called the Bears the "Road Warriors" because Brownsboro has played 11 of their first 12 games this season away from Brownsboro.

4 BHS athletes earn gold medals

      Prior to the spring break holiday the boys and girls from Brownsboro High School competed in the Indian Relays in Jacksonville. Kyle Price, Karla Robles, Jerqualyn Dora and Brad McDonald all earned a gold medal at the event.

Athens upsets JV Bearettes 10-2

      Taylor Barnes took to the mound for the Brownsboro Bearettes Junior Varsity team as they played host to the Athens Lady Hornets JV team last Friday in Brownsboro. Athens reached on back-toback errors to begin the game and never looked back as they defeated the Bearettes 10-2.
