The Irish luck was not with the Canton Eagles on Monday night as they took Bear Field wearing solid green jerseys on Saint Patrick's Day.
Wearing white jerseys with blue under shirts the Junior Varsity Brownsboro Bears defeated the Eagles in both games of the District 14-3A double-header.
Collin Mason picked up the win for the Bears in the first game of the double-header as the Bears defeated Canton by the score of 5-1.
Brownsboro totaled eight hits in game one while Matthew Toby and Justin Vause each had two hits.
DeAndre Taylor walked to lead off the bottom half of the first inning before scoring on a triple by Vause.
In the fourth inning the Bears scored four runs on hits by Taylor, Mason and Toby.
Canton was held scoreless until the top of the fourth inning.
Brownsboro wasted little time scoring in the second game of the double-header as Vause led off the bottom of the second inning with a single to center field.

Leading 1-0 the Bears used "small ball" to drive in two more runs in the inning.
Michael House bunted and reached base as the Eagles were more concerned about the runner on third. House was able to advance to second as the Eagles attempted to catch Taylor in a rundown at third base.
With runners in scoring position Hunter Cline popped a bunt over the head of the Eagle pitcher who was charging the plate. Taylor scored for the Bears while House advanced to third.
Clint Johnson hit a sacrifice fly to center field to drive in the third run of the inning.
Johnson picked up the win for the Bears as he pitched three innings without allowing a run.
Brownsboro scored one run in the fourth and fifth inning while overcoming an Eagle rally to win the game 5-3.
Last Saturday the Bears traveled to Grand Saline and lost both games of a doubleheader.
In game one of the doubleheader the Bears lost 3-2. Taylor had two hits while Timothy McGovern, Toby and JT Cox all had one hit.
Grand Saline defeated the Bears 6-1 in game two as the Bears were held to just two hits in the game. DeAndre Taylor scored the Bears only run of the game.
