Deemed the "Road Warriors" by head coach Joe Fleming the Brownsboro Bears will travel to Chapel Hill tonight to compete in District 14-3A action.

Fleming called the Bears the "Road Warriors" because Brownsboro has played 11 of their first 12 games this season away from Brownsboro.

First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Chapel Hill. On Tuesday the Bears were scheduled to open District 14-3A play against Van in Brownsboro.

Last Friday night the Bears played host to All Saints in front of a large crowd at Bear Field.

All Saints defeated the Bears 11-4 in the 2008 home opener. Brownsboro scored runs in the fourth, fifth and seventh inning but it was not enough to hold back the Trojans.

The Trojans had 11 hits in the game and scored runs in the first, second, third and sixth inning. Brownsboro had six errors in the game against All Saints.

Against All Saints the Bears totaled five hits and four walks. Collin Wilson, Ryan Smith, Bret Ralson, Tyler Rogers and Ryan Owens all had a hit for the Bears.

Brownsboro defeated the Wildcats 4-0 as senior Keaton Parsell pitched a 13 strike out, one-hitter. Parsell was 2 for 4 at the plate driving in one of the Bears' four runs.

The Bears scored two runs in both the third and sixth inning. Brad McDonald scored two of the Bears runs as he was 3 for 4 at the plate.

McDonald was a homerun away from a cycle. He doubled in the first inning, tripled in the third and singled in the sixth inning. In his final at bat in the seventh inning McDonald reached base on an error.

Brownsboro (4-8) totaled six hits in the game against Palestine.
